AGM 2000 is now 'sold out'!!! Message from the President, RCMP Veterans' Association (Regina)It is with great pride and an honor for the Regina division veterans association to host the 76th annual general meeting as we enter into the 21st century. We've themed the convention "Marching into the 21st century" so it seems most fitting the AGM be held in Regina, Saskatchewan, the "Roots" of all members of Force. Saskatchewan is known as the "land of the living skies", and we can boast that in June it is usually warm and sunny and it is our intention to extend to all veterans of the Force a warm and friendly atmosphere at the AGM 2000.The committee has been working very hard in order to put together an interesting and exciting program. As usual, "Depot" will play an integral role as a site for some of the events giving our visitors an opportunity to tour around and see the many changes and perhaps revive some old memories from the past. We anticipate a large registration for
this AGM so we ask all veterans to register early to ensure hotel accommodation.
AGM 76 should prove to be the most exciting and entertaining meeting we've
had for some time. So mark your calendar now and make sure your plans for
the 21st century include AGM 2000.
We look forward with great anticipation to a good turnout of veterans and
spouses.
See you all in June 2000! E.W. "Bill" Perry, President 2000. Message from the AGM Organization CommitteeThe AGM Organization Committee is endeavouring to make the 76th a special and exciting event as we "March into the 21st Century." The President's Reception, Church Parade, Brunch and BBQ will be held at historic "Depot" Division, with the meetings and dance and banquet at the Regina Delta Hotel, Regina's modern convention centre, located in the downtown area. The Ladies Auxiliary to the RCMP Veterans Association is also preparing an entertaining program for the ladies. We are also planning an additional activity following the AGM. The Commanding Officer "Depot" Division has invited us to witness a "Pass Out" (Graduation) parade of cadets on the Monday following the AGM. Despite the slowdown of recruit training at the present time, we are confident the event will take place. We will keep you advised. The business events will be taking place downtown at the Delta. Accommodation has been arranged at five hotels. We encourage you to register early as hotel space will be under pressure for the numerous events planned in Regina for the 2000 celebrations. Book early and avoid disappointment. The Organizing Committee is making every effort possible to keep costs at the lowest possible level. While we are fortunate the Commanding Officer "Depot" is making the facilities available to us at "Depot", they do come at a cost pursuant to new government policy. The members of our committee look forward to welcoming you at the 76th AGM in Regina. Please note the date from June 2nd to June 5th, 2000. Lets make a little history at the historic "Depot" Division setting. Tom Light, Chairman AGM 2000. Thursday, June 1
