Super!! I wish to be part of the RCMP one day and I am doing the best I can to realise my dream.I would like to thank you for this web-site. It's a wonderfull source of information and it is very instructive.I also visited the school web-site.I like the pictures and the site is easy to follow and I enjoy the historic part specially when you treat the first nation with respect and dignity.Just a thing to look for: the translation in french contains some minor errors.Keep going this way because You are doing a very good job and I really hope to see you soon! I am a collector of coffee mugs, I have over a hundred of them, so I will be going to the Museum shop on line to get a mug with the RCMP logo on it. I was lucky enough to get a Texas Ranger mug just before christmas, so I'll have to contact you to find out how much the shipping costs ETC. will be. I know the guest book is not the place to talk about that but still I'm British!!!! I am also disabled and I cannot walk very well so I spend a lot of time on the internet. Thanks for reading this. It gave me a new found respect for the RCMP and the hardships that our country went througt to get were we are today. Canada as a country still has a long and hard road ahead but it bring me comfort that the RCMP will be there throughout it all keeping the peace. I started my basic training in Regina ( February 1951, " C " squad) and graduated in October 1951 at the Ontario training facility. My first assignment was with the Special Branch in Toronto, Ontario. I continue to follow the RCMP's activity and progress....and have very fond memories of my brief stay with the force. For your giftshop I would like to suggest a little more in descriptions of books and dimensions of figures and statues. That might help increase sales volume. How come no one has sculpted a F.Remington sized bronze of a Ride memebr on horseback in a galloping position for us "Boomer's" to collect? I've searched al over. Keep up the good work ,I know behind it all are retired memebers and I salute you! I found it, while I`m looking out for a special photo of a RCMP man, I can use for an advertisment in Germany. As a business Start-UP I like to sell a Canadian product (dehumidefier) in Germany and, because we like Canada as whole family, we like to make also Canada and RCMP public. Both stands in Germany for a great country/nation of freedom and security. Are you able to give me a notice, where I can find some photos of the red dressed RCMP`s and where from I can get the permission for using it? I've just completed my first visit to your website. I read every section of the history of the RCMP with great interest. For years the legends surrounding the Force have intrigued me, and now I find myself wishing to add to the reams of written accounts. In my case, I would fictionalize the characters and tell a story of the early years, factually accurate but also compelling and dramatic. The raw material is all there. I intend to return to the website until I have read it all, and then will contact the Museum with specific questions and for further direction. I especially would like to read the actual Acts of Parliament, the original Recruitment notices, and if possible, actual reports from 1880-1900. But I am getting ahead of myself. I appreciate the work that has gone into this site, and that most if not all has been done by volunteers. You can be sure I will posting comments as I go further into my research. Finally, my husband's brother is a retired RCMP veteran, and we never tire of hearing his "War Stories" dating back, for him, to the late 1950's. We are very proud of our RCMP. Thank you, all. Although quite complete and very useful, it lacks in quality. I would like to bring to your attention the French version of this site. I am a university student earning a bachelor's degree in French professional Writing with a minor in translation from English to French. I found the translation posted on this site to be extremely pitiful and not to mention shameful. As a Federal organizaton in a BILINGUAL Country, I urge you to solve this very serious problem. Many translators would be more than willing to offer their (much needed) help, that is, of course, if the RCMP is ready to make the sacrifice and pay a competent person to do the job. Another comment comes to mind...Why is it impossible to write our comments in French? Thank you for your time amd I do hope this message will not be ignored. I have read his books and find nothing in regards to the discription of this watch. Do you know of any archive material that Sir Cecil may have had that might describe the watch?
