greetings, I represent a group of artists in Montreal who are committed to painting the history of the RCMP to a large canvas or wall mural. Seeking a possible database or book of comprehensive historical imagery. Suggestions and contacts would be most appreciated.

Enjoyed visiting the RCMP facility and particularly the museum. Very well done. We followed it up by a visit to the Fort Walsh National Historic Site a couple of days later. Took some photos of your Beech 18 aircraft (CF-MPH) outside the museum. We have its "sister ship" (CF-MPI) on display (and under restoration) in our museum in Nanton, Alberta. I'm a director of the museum. Cheers, Dave Birrell

Greetings My name is Cameron Smith, and at the present moment i am a probationary member of the Legion Of Frontiersmen of the Commonwealth, ( New Zealand Division ). I would love to communicate by email, written letters etc to members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Some of your officers may know that we also wear Stetson hats as our Legion of Frontiersmen's, uniform hat. I think Due south was a very good television show, i wish it was still showing over here. I have just checked out this site, and i can see i will be talking to someone about orders in the near future. I would really appreciate it if someone reading my entry could pass my email address to a senior officer with in the RCMP, maybe someone dealing with Public Relations?. Many Thanks Cameron Smith EMAIl: cameron-smith@vodafone.net.nz

Type your comments here... The site is very interesting and friendly. I have a question and there doesn't seem to be a specific route for this, so I hope I am able to get an answer here. I purchased a Harley Davidson Motorcycle that was owned by the R.C.M.P. purportedly for the sole purpose of providing escort service for the Pope's visit to Canada in 1984. I am looking for as much information about these bikes, pictures, articles , no of bikes, etc. I would like to compile a history of this, with a view to eventually contact those current owners I can find, to see if any are interested in forming a group to keep track of them. Thanks for whatever help and information you can give me. Tom

Type your comments here... The reason for my visiting this site is that my great grandfather (John Coleman) was one of the original officers in the great March West" of the Northwest Mounted Police. So I was looking for further information on this. I have found this site to be very informative! I would also greatly appreciate any additional information on my great-grandfather for example copies of photos, etc., for I am putting together my family tree. Thank you.

The site is nice, bu nly becuase it is RCMP. The RCMP'S mandate has changed so much since it was started. Why are the reasons not posted? It just says what they changed to not why. The RCMP is responible for alot of "crap" that has happened. Why is that not on this site? This site is nice, but I feel that it is dishonest becuase it only allous positive information to be seen.

Your site was very informative, although I was searching for more dteails on history. My great-grandfather George William Harrison was a member of the overseas battalion from New Brunswick. I have a hand embroidered insignai badge that he made while wounded between 1914-1918. I may have some of his medals also. His badge has a large 55 on it and on top is a deer with a crown. I would love to be able to research its significance and his history with the Mounties. I will be visiting Fort Steele around the middle of June and planning to bring my artifacts with me. I am hoping to meet with a historian there who may guide me. If you could send me any further info it would be appreciated. PLease contact me at the above e-mail Thank-you kaye bound formerly harrison

I am looking for information on one Charles Bramham. I believe he was with the North West Mounted Police. My Grandfather and father had a very old photograph of the gentlemen- a rather handsome figure including a handle-bar mustache. I am not sure of the spelling of his name. He would be my Great-great Uncle. Am I correct in assuming that photographs (Particulary Large photographs in full uniform) were only done on original members or ellte services? I know he fought in some sort of rebellion and paid a visit to my Grandfather when he was just a boy- 1880s (possibly). It was the last time he had seen him or heard from him. I remember my Grandfather telling me that Charles wanted to be a North West Mountie. I know that photographs of such expense taste, were probably not allotted to foot soldiers; unless paid for out of their own pocket. I remember the photograph depicted an odd uniform- of sorts- reminisent of early mounties --- I know that photographs of that time period had somewhat of a pink hue; one is almost able to see slight coloring- for instance dark or red hair. The photograph was dreaded by many members of my family , as he appeared to be always watching who walked by the gentlemens' photograph. Many childhood confessions insued as a result of is watchful eye. Many adults disliked his constant stance; henceforth , it was abadoned to the shed - where , unfortunately, it was stolen. If someone has information about the origin of his unit; would you contact me? Repectfully, Miss Carolyn L. Dobson

Hi, I really like this website. The RCMP is an organization we should all be proud of and I hope people realize how much it means to all of us. I travel a lot in the US and Europe and I find that many people strongly associate Canada with the RCMP. And rightly so. Keep up the good work! Bob

Sir, I wonder if you can help me trace a cousin of my dad. All I know about this man is that he was in the RCMP. I think he was over in Scotland in the late 60's for a festival. His name is Ricky and he presented to the Queen a carving of a RCMP which I am led to believe that Ricky was actually the model for this carving. I am sorry I cannot supply more information because my relatives on that side have passed away. I am very impressed with your web site and I found it very interesting. Yours sincerely Lorna Dowie (nee Aitken)
