Dear RCMP: Thanks for having so much interesting information about your group. Recently a television show mentioned the precision drill tream of the RCMP, but I failed to get the name or any other pertinent facts. Could you forward me some information? I would love to see the troupe give a performance. Please reach me at my snail mail or e-mail address. Thank you.

RE: Female RCMP Members

Hi Shauna,

Thanks for your comments. Your question is very timely as the RCMP just celebrated 25 years with female members on September 16 of this year. The first female members signed on with the RCMP in 1974 and, as of August 1999, 14% or 2,022 members of the RCMP are female. A lot of things have taken place since 1974.

You can find out more about this topic at the main RCMP web-site (click here or click here) .

Hi. I really like this site. I was wondering if there was any additional information about women in the RCMP? I know there are female members because one of them gave us a warning (not a speeding ticket thank goodness) in BC last summer. But I would like to learn more about the RCMP and it's lady members. Thanks.

RE: Musical Ride Information

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your comments. We intend to add some information about the Musical Ride to our site, particularly relating to the history of the Ride which first performed in 1887. Did you read the latest news about the horses returning to Depot? It's an interesting little story which we'll be following. If you haven't see it yet check out the Friendly Notes, Vol 9 No 4.

In the meantime, you can find out much more about the Ride at the RCMP Musical Ride Website.

My favourite part of the R.C.M.P. is the Musical Ride. Please... please put up some more images and information about the musical ride. Thank you.

I visited Canada when I was young. I thought it was a great country! And very big! I loved it very much. I think you are very lucky to live there and have police like this. You should be proud of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Hi. This site is cool. I am writing a report about the RCMP for school and this has helped a lot. I was wondering if you could add some information about other famous cases? They are interesting. Bye, Billy.

Hello. I think you have a great site here and I hope you continue to develop it further. It isn't likely I'll get to Canada in my lifetime but I've heard a lot about the 'Mounties' and it's great to have a resource like this available. Thank you very much.

Very interesting site. The RCMP has quite a history and i think you've done a great job showing that to the public. I hope I get the chance to visit the real museum some day. I'm sure it's wonderful. Thanks very much. Peter Townshend Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Good site. Enjoyed it. I am doing research on distinguished soldiers of the Royal Canadian Dragoons. After WW1 Sir James Howden MacBrien (ex RCD) went on to become Commissioner of the Mounties (1930's I believe) Do you know where he is buried and the location of his medals. I have heard they are in your museum. The RCD Archives do not have much info on him. Thanks

I was fortunate enough to see the Musical Ride at the State Fair of Texas this year. It was wonderful!! The horses were beautiful, and the Mounties were friendly and answered our questions when we went back to the stable area between shows. Thank you for allowing them to come. They were a treat!!!
